Capability News

Welcome to the first Capability News of 2019 – and we are fast approaching the end of the first quarter already!

ICN consultants across the country are hard at work connecting suppliers and major project owners to ensure Australian business remain viable.

There is some excitement in Whyalla, South Australia, with GFC Alliance’s big plans for city steelworks, with plans to invest well over $1 billion in the short-to-medium term. The GFC Alliance is working with ICN SA to identify local capabilities in a variety of broad opportunities.

Also in SA, a little further up the Spencer Gulf, Port Augusta’s Joy Baluch Bridge is set for a $200 million upgrade to improve one of the country’s major east-west transport links.

Further north, Darwin is set for a tourism boost, with the development of a luxury waterfront hotel complex, complete with a skywalk connecting the city to Darwin Harbour. Project Owner Landbridge Group is using ICN NT to identify local content and keep industry informed of how the project is progressing.

ICN NT is also working with the Department of Defence and Laing O’Rourke on a redevelopment at Larrakeyah Barracks, and the construction of a new wharf and fuel farm.

The 2019 Avalon Airshow attracted about 200,000 Aviation enthusiasts, with ICN Victoria hosting an industry event to showcase defence opportunities.

Queensland businesses are being encouraged to register expressions of interest in the $22 million Gladstone Hospital Emergency Department project.

There are a number of renewable projects across the country that are currently listed on Gateway and ICN is helping organisations transfer skills to the booming sector.

We also bring you the first installment in a regular series showcasing our consultants and how they can help your business.

Finally, there’s a great opportunity to upgrade your subscription, with reductions of up to 50 percent.
