Spring is in the air at ICN, and with it comes some changes to our executive.

We bid farewell to ICN Victoria Executive Director Don Matthews and thank him for his valuable service both to Victoria and to ICNL as Chair of Executive Directors. Grant Anderson has replaced Don in Victoria and brings with him a wealth of manufacturing experience.

Kevin Peters and I have taken on the role as co-Chairs and look forward to the challenges ahead.

This edition of Capability News brings you a feature on Gippsland suppliers getting ready for about $1 billion in infrastructure projects over the next 18 months, and ICN is helping position them to win government tenders.

In other news, Tasmanian businesses offered once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to be part of Antarctic exploration history as the state-of-the-art Icebreaker RSV Nuyina replaces Aurora Australis, which has been battling the Southern Ocean since 1989.

In the Top End, the much-mooted Barossa Offshore project is closer to reality and promises significant income and employment opportunities and ICN is helping map capability ready for five big mining projects in the Red Centre.

South Australia’s North-South Corridor is hitting new milestones in the quest for a 78-kilometre non-stop transport corridor through Adelaide as three major projects are set for completion over the next 18 months.

Meanwhile, in the West the Crux offshore gas project is calling for EOI’s for front-end engineering and design services; BHP has announcing the long-awaited approval for its South Flank mine.

These are just some of the stories in this bumper Spring edition, proving that Australian industry is ready and willing to face the future.
