ICN Victoria delivers online

Over the course of July, ICN Victoria were proud to deliver four digital events covering various industry sectors & regions. Although we certainly look forward to hosting in-person events again in the future, we have transitioned to virtual events due to the evolving COVID-19 situation in Victoria. Furthermore, we appreciate all the support & commitment from our stakeholders in the challenging times we are facing together.

Largest in scale, the Barwon & Great South Coast Regional Opportunities Showcase was held on July 22nd to over 330 live attendees. This was the first time a major ICN Victoria event was hosted via webinar, with many speakers featuring throughout the session. Organisations that presented for this event included the Regional Development Victoria, City of Greater Geelong, Engineering Network Geelong as well as the LJF Commissioner Don Matthews. The project opportunities that were presented included the Chisholm Road Prison Project from John Holland, the COGG Civic Accommodation Project from Watpac, and the Geelong & Warrnambool rail upgrades from Downer.

On July 28th, ICN partnered with the Victorian Health and Human Services Building Authority to deliver the Wonthaggi Hospital Expansion Industry Briefing webinar. With the aim of involving local suppliers from Gippsland & greater Victoria, the audience were informed of the upcoming opportunities available over the course of construction that is set to commence in late 2020. We had an audience of more than 160 live attendees for this webinar event, which also featured presenters from GROW Gippsland and Bass Coast Health.

Just a couple days later, the Morwell Trade Skills Centre – part of the $35.5 million upgrade to the Morwell Campus - was the talking point for a Local Industry Engagement Forum led by ADCO Constructions. As with the two prior webinars, a live Q & A session was a key part of the webinar proceedings, with MC Andrew Bradley acting as the facilitator with the presenters available.

In early July, SEMMA partnered with ICN Victoria to offer an Advanced ICN Gateway Workshop webinar. This was a smaller, more intimate audience size that our organisation plans to host for interested local businesses over coming months.

With a solid foundation in this state’s supply chain, Industry Capability Network – Victoria offers effective digital events primarily aimed at engaging SMEs across Melbourne and our regions.
